New year and new kicks and Kobe has something special in the works. I am your host Jacques Slade and this is Today in Sneaks

Lets kick things off with Bron Bron and a new upper Nike Basketball is adding to the LeBron 13. The upper uses a new grahic print that in my opinion really pops on the upper of the sneaker and the use of the purple and teal remind us of his past colorways inspired by the Summit Lake Hornets. Usually an abrupt change in color on the upper is off putting, but the quick gradient work on this pair. Now for the bad news, or good news depending on how you look at it, this is a grade school only colorway and will arrive at retailers starting on January 28.

When it comes to the Air Jordan 2, you either love it or hate it. For the next colorway of the shoe, Jordan Brand is going back into the Spike Lee archives with an upper inspired by Radio Raheem. If you don’t know who that it, I wouldn’t blame you, he was a character in one of Spike’s movies, Do The Right Thing, that was released back in 1989. The upper is inspired by the shirt that he wore in the movie and features Black/Pink Fire-Photo Blue. Look for these to release this weekend for $190.

Kobe is on his farewell season and Nike is showing him some extra shoe love with the release of the Nike Zoom Kobe Icon. For the older generation, these look a lot like a Gary Payton shoe I will not name but Nike is so far not referencing that shoe. Of the pairs I have seen so far on the web, this is the cleanest of the bunch and the upper on this pairs looks like it may be made out of Flynit or some other textile which would be a nice surprise. From what I know, these are not EXTs or lifestyle version of the Kobe XI, but a part of the Venomenon series. Stay tuned and I’ll update you when I find out more.

For the question of the video, I was you to ask me anything. I am going to kick on 2016 with a Q and A video this weekend and I’ll answer your questions from this video. Just leave them down in the comments below.

As for what I am rocking today, it is the Nike Zoom Hyperrev. I think I got these over all-Star weekend in New Orleans back in 2014. Went with my Muppets t-shirt I happen to be rocking today.
